There was a post on Facebook in January 2021 about a very very beat up cat in South Philly.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Many people were trying to help this cat but he just disappeared.<\/p>\n\n

Our volunteers headed over and scoured the area looking for him and couldn\u2019t find him.<\/p><\/div>\n\n

With the help of a neighbor, she was able to trap him very late that night and dropped him off to Debbie, our volunteer, at midnight where she rushed him over to the local emergency vet. Debbie was absolutely stunned and so scared when she saw this poor cat. He appeared to have no eyes!<\/p><\/div><\/div>

The emergency doctor that night said he was fractious and feral! He also tested positive for FIV and a plan to transfer to a regular vet in the morning was set.<\/p>

When he went to the second vet the following morning they said he was the most gentle and sweet boy!! They confirmed that he did indeed have both of his eyes both his one eye was so damaged from untreated wounds and upper respiratory infections that it would need to be removed. He was also anemic and had swelling in his head and face. The recommendation was made to euthanize him simply because he was FIV positive and anemic. <\/p>

We refused to make that decision and said we wanted another vet and also to move forward with a treatment plan for him. After all Lino went through, we deserved at least a chance to survive and thrive.<\/p>

He had a dental surgery to remove broken teeth and was transferred to an ophthalmologist who confirmed he did have vision in his one eye and to proceed with the removal of the damaged eye.<\/p>

After a lot of love and care in his foster home this boy made a total recovery! We were astounded watching this baby each day as he learned new things and a new, happier way of life. All he wanted was people to love and care for him and he had that now!<\/p>

After months is foster care, Lino found his perfect parents<\/strong>! <\/p>\n\n

They absolutely fell in love with his story and personality and took him home they day they met him. <\/p>\n\n
