Alfie has been through a lot. Before he was rescued, he lived in a dilapidated house with over 20 other cats and was abandoned on the streets when his owner was evicted. He has a few small older scars on his head and ears, possibly from fights with other cats. Understandably, Alfie is still a little shy and prefers to spend his time in quiet, secluded places. But at his core, all he really wants is to be picked up and sit on his human’s lap. He can stay there for hours (literally!), happily enjoying belly rubs and gentle pets. Once he feels safe and more confident, he will start to explore his surroundings, loves using his scratcher and likes to jump onto the windowsill and watch the people on the sidewalk. But he will likely end up on your lap again after a while for those well-deserved head scratches and pets. He even reaches up to you in anticipation of being picked up. Alfie has so much love to give and dreams of moving out of his foster’s basement into his forever home. Although he used to live with many other cats, Alfie’s gentle and reserved nature might be a better fit in a calm, quieter environment, or even as the only cat in the household.
