Twizzler

🍬 The Grumpy Old Man With a Melted-Candy Heart 🍬

Twizzler spent years roaming the same alley, a scruffy little legend with a tough‑guy reputation and a face that told a thousand stories. When a neighbor noticed he was struggling to eat, they stepped in — and that small act of kindness changed everything. We weren’t sure if he’d ever known people he could trust, but the very first night he surprised us all: this “grump” leaned forward in his cage and offered headbutts and purrs to total strangers, choosing connection even when everything around him was new and overwhelming.

Once he realized he was safe, Twizzler blossomed. At roughly 5–7 years old, he’s an old soul who has taken to indoor life with quiet gratitude. He’s neutered, fully litter box trained, and has enthusiastically sampled every food we’ve offered, as if making up for lost time. He still pretends to be a little hesitant with new people — reputation is reputation — but give him a couple of days (and maybe a treat), and he’ll trot over to greet you with a rumbling purr he tries very hard to deny.

At night, he chooses to sleep right beside his person, settling in like he’s finally found the warmth he spent years searching for. He’s discovering the joy of toys, especially his beloved stick toy, and he proudly delivers his stuffies as gifts. He’s also a talker with a whole vocabulary of chirps, grumbles, and soft little monologues that he uses to share his opinions and affection.

Twizzler is FIV+, but he’s gentle with other cats and doesn’t require any special care. He’d be happy in a multi‑cat home or as your one‑and‑only old man. Earn his trust, and this once‑forgotten alley cat will become your loyal, loving, slightly grumpy ray of sunshine.
