Long after most people had gone home, when the market lights were harsh and the streets were loud, Corley was still out there — a tiny orange girl standing in the middle of all that movement with nowhere to go. She was so thin she looked like she might fold in on herself, so weak she swayed when the wind pushed through the stalls, but she kept crying anyway. Crying because she didn’t know what else to do.
