A call from a friend with the rescue came in about a kitten found on their street in bad shape. Never did we think we’d pull up to one of the worst sights we have ever seen.

An emaciated, feces covered, maggot filled kitten was brought out to us. We immediately rushed him to the emergency room and sat with him for 4 hours while he was bathed, tests being ran.

Rudy’s blood sugar was 30, his heart rate, blood pressure and blood count were in the critical range. The team began aggressive lifesaving measures including 2 blood transfusions to bring this baby back.

He stayed in the ICU for 4 days before finally recovering enough to move on to his foster home.

With lots of love and care, Rudy bounced back and turned out to be the most beautiful fat and healthy boy!

Rudy has since been adopted and has a big brother!
