Name: Katniss

  • Age: 1-3 years old
  • Gender: female
  • Color: Orange
  • Type: Cats, Female
  • Vacinated: yes
Katniss is a 1-3 year old female orange tabby cat that has tested positive for FelLV Leukemia. She has been spayed and is up to date with all her vaccinations. She is slowly getting adjusted to being touched and pet, and is looking for a home that could help further that transition. While she’s shy at first, I think over time she will become much more comfortable and playful. As of right now she is in good health, and the only reason I can’t keep her is because I have a cat that is FeLV negative. She should be placed as a solo cat, or with someone who already has positive cats. She is still transitioning to life in a home after years on the street, so can see a bit timid and will hide initially. But give it time! She has no interest in returning to the outside and is very content inside the home.
Her left eye is clouded over and she is likely blind. According to the Vet this came most likely from a bacterial infection when she was a kitten. Her most recent vet visit was on 3/30/21, where she received an IFA Blood Test. This test will provide a very accurate update to her current health and if the leukemia has progressed. Otherwise she is a very healthy girl, timid and friendly. She needs more time to adjust to be regularly pet, but she accepts treats from my hands and even licks them! Still, it is best if the new owner takes things before slow.

About Us

SCRF’s mission is to prevent kittens being born into homelessness by providing Trap-Neuter-Return services. Additionally, SCRF provides medical care to urgently-sick strays in the Philadelphia and New Jersey areas. Our focus is to find homes for stray cats who would have been abandoned and give them a chance at a loving home. We are 100% foster and donation based. We do not have a physical shelter location.
