Name: Nova (Cerebellar Hypoplasia "CH")

  • Age: 1
  • Gender: female
  • Color: Buff Tabby & White
  • Type: Cats, Female
  • Vacinated: yes
If you want a cat that will chill with you while watching tv, reading, etc., she’s the girl for you. If Nova is awake, she is by my side; I definitely feel the love 💕
I have 4 resident cats Nova learned to get along with…for the most part. I think she would do great with 1 or 2 other cats tops. She knows she’s at a disadvantage so she’s always on the defensive if one of them enters her personal space so I don’t think she would do well with a dog.
The CH mostly affects her back legs, causing a wobbly spider-like walk but she’s FAST. Nova gets up and down the stairs without too much trouble (she kind of hops) but I often give her a lift since she’s usually following me. I keep a soft mat at the base of the stairs for any hard landings. She can jump pretty high (more of a hop), uses the litter box without a problem and enjoys playing with her little catnip mice.
She shakes back and forth when she’s sitting upright (tremors) and she tips over easily and often. Nova can hop up on the couch or bed with no problem but jumping off usually results in a hard landing so keeping a soft landing place for her is ideal since she doesn’t always land on her feet.

About Us

SCRF’s mission is to prevent kittens being born into homelessness by providing Trap-Neuter-Return services. Additionally, SCRF provides medical care to urgently-sick strays in the Philadelphia and New Jersey areas. Our focus is to find homes for stray cats who would have been abandoned and give them a chance at a loving home. We are 100% foster and donation based. We do not have a physical shelter location.
