Seymour, a three-legged gray tabby with eyes like honey, was found trying to enter people’s houses to escape the loud streets of Philadelphia. We believe his former owner mistreated him because he was very scared of people and fearful of being touched. SCRF took him in in January 2023, and placed him with a dedicated foster who helped him learn that not all humans are bad, and not all hands bring pain. Today, he likes being petted on his head and back, and enjoys playing with toy wands, chasing the elusive red dot and having his way with the scratching poles. However, he’s still not comfortable with belly rubs or rough play. He’s quite vocal, often sounding like he’s saying hello, which is really adorable.
Seymour loves to relax by a sunny window and enjoys snuggling into a cozy bed. He’s talkative but prefers a quiet home without other pets or children, as too much activity can overwhelm him.
In the world of rescue cats, some are ready to jump into life with all paws, while others, like Seymour, ask for a heart patient and willing to put in the effort to help them heal. For those ready to offer this kind of sanctuary, Seymour promises a reward far greater than mere companionship: a bond built on mutual trust, endless conversations in the quiet of the evening, and a loyalty that only comes from a heart truly touched.
