Seadragon was found in the Juniata section of Philadelphia in January 2020. He was laying on the pavement but got up to follow someone walking by. He began rubbing on her legs. When she saw the condition he was in she rushed him over to the city’s open intact shelter ACCT.

Upon arrival at ACCT, they determined his wounds were more extensive then the care they could provide so urgently promoted him for rescue placement.

We immediately sent an email to pull this boy and brought him right over to our vet. They determined he had a ruptured eye, broken jaw and puncture wounds on his face possibly consistent with a dog attack. He was also so skinny and very dehydrated from not being able to eat or drink from his injuries and being on the street. We then transferred him to PennVet where they scheduled his eye removal and jaw repair surgery. He successfully made it through the intense surgeries and headed home two days later into foster care.

Seadragon recovered at his foster home for a few months and transformed into a totally new cat! He recovered from his injuries with no lasting effects and went on to be adopted by his foster mom’s dad. His foster grandpa! Seadragon’s name is now Jack and he’s the most thankful and loving kitty now.

    About Us

SCRF’s mission is to prevent kittens being born into homelessness by providing Trap-Neuter-Return services. Additionally, SCRF provides medical care to urgently-sick strays in the Philadelphia and New Jersey areas. Our focus is to find homes for stray cats who would have been abandoned and give them a chance at a loving home. We are 100% foster and donation based. We do not have a physical shelter location.
