Karen began fostering cats in 2008 for a friend that was involved in cat rescue.  In 2014, Karen became aware of the conditions of the 200+ outdoor cat colony at the piers along the Delaware River waterfront and got involved.  Karen got to work on increasing the number of daily feeders and getting more adequate shelters installed.

The SCRF family has grown substantially since Karen’s start with the organization. She is so grateful for an amazing group of talented and dedicated volunteers that inspire her every day.   SCRF’s mission is to help as many cats and kittens that it can.  One of the main focuses this year is on education about TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return).

Karen graduated from Temple University in 2004 with a degree in English. She has a grown, married daughter and her favorite thing to do is cook!
